There are a few regular events in Canberra that celebrate and explore the environment and the Canberra community.Some that you might want to look out for or help to organise are

  • Australian Science Festival —

The 2008 Australian Science Festival School Program will be held from August 20 - 22 at the National Convention Centre in Canberra. This festival is crammed with events, exhibitions and forums on all types of different science related things from bubble blowing performances to debates on the state of our environment.   • The National Folk Festival —

Every Easter the folk festival comes to Canberra and the national exhibition centre is filled with colourful people, a huge range of musical delights, workshops, artists, street performers, natural healers and more. This Festival is very popular and tickets can sell out early. For more information check out the festival's website http://www.folkfestival.asn.au/. Unfortunately this year's Folk Festival is over.   • Greenscreen — is an evolving celebration of environmental issues and happens in Garema PL in the middle of the city as often as there is someone to put it on. In the past Greenscreen has showed enviro films, had street theatre, music, spoken word, junk sculpture and food from the co-op kitchen

For it to keep going regularly help is always needed so if it sounds like your kind of thing contact the environment collective.
