Sustainability
From ACT GreenGuide
A precise definition of sustainability is a much-debated topic, and is not a purpose of this website. For most people it involves such concepts as the finiteness of non-renewable resources, the need to create 'no-waste' closed loops, a concern for the wellbeing of future generations, and a general concern for the environment and recognition of its critical importance in human and other life on Earth. Most present-day 'environmental' concerns, such as global warming and water shortages, can be cast as issues of sustainability. The concept can also be broadened to such topics as social sustainability.
The Welcome discusses why we as residents of the ACT should be concerned about sustainability.
