The University of Canberra Student Association (UCSA) facilitates an environment collective that meets every two weeks in 2B4. There is also an environment officer; Lea Weekes-Randall. The UCSA chiefly addresses student services and concerns, these may be national or campus orientated. The University of Canberra Union (UCU) has authority over the bar and the refectory. In 2003 the UCU is introducing recycling to the refectory. The Student Association represents the students and has members sitting on several committees such as ‘Building and Construction’. Ask at UCSA about any new developments or changes to University policies. If you’re keen to bring food from home UCSA has a kitchen too.
Vegetation on the campus is wholly native and there are large groups of Kangaroos loitering about. Lake Ginnindera is close by, and if you plan on walking down there the forest on your right can be fun to hide in. Take advantage of the wonderful bike paths around Canberra and ride to uni! Another resource saving device is WebCT; read your lecture notes online at home - spare the trees.
